application details
Application Process
- Automatic Evaluation (New Students): Entry-level high school topper frameworks and initial score discounts are assessed automatically using admission data at the time of entry. No separate application forms are required for incoming freshman merit awards.
- Manual E-Request Submission (Continuing Students): Continuing student merit incentives, including the College Honor Student Discount, Top Three Achievers Discount, and the Alumni Discount, are not applied automatically. Students must formally submit a manual E-request through AU’s online portal at the start of every single semester.
Strict Submission Deadlines for E-Requests
- Any required manual discount requests or continuing student E-requests must be fully finalized through the online system before the following absolute hard cut-off dates:
First Semester (Fall): By mid-October.
Second Semester (Spring): By the end of February.
- Applications and E-requests submitted after these deadlines will strictly not be reviewed or considered.
Eligibility & Document Requirements
- Topper Frameworks: Requires verified official documentation certifying national, regional, or international first, second, or third-place rankings.
- Score Frameworks: Official certified high school transcripts meeting the 90%, 95%, or 99% thresholds relative to the target college track.
- Language Proficiency: Valid proof of English proficiency via standardized IELTS or TOEFL scores as required by the chosen degree program.
- Academic Redundancy Rule: Students cannot combine multiple awards; if a student qualifies for more than one discount, only the single higher-value award will be applied.
- Medical Track Restrictions: The standard 90% high school score discount is not applicable to Medicine or Dentistry; a separate 95%+ threshold is mandatory for those colleges.
- Course Validity: Funding does not extend to cover failed, withdrawn, or dropped classes processed after the official Add & Drop window closes.
Additional
Info
Annual Funding: AU disburses over AED 30 million in scholarships annually, benefiting up to two-thirds of its student body.
International Reach: International High School Topper Scholarships cover first-ranked graduates from 24 countries, including India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, and the Philippines.
Postgraduate Incentives: For postgraduate students, the AU Alumni Discount (25%–50% based on CGPA) is available. However, this discount does not apply to the Foundation Year or any remedial/preparatory courses. To retain the award in subsequent terms, graduate students must maintain a strict, steady Cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (or 3.60 depending on the specific postgraduate program track). Dropping below this benchmark results in instant cancellation.
Students of Determination: May be eligible for up to 100% scholarship throughout their study period, subject to committee recommendation and Chancellor approval.
Innovative and Creative Students: May be eligible for up to 100% scholarship through the Scholarships for Innovative Students scheme.
Only the higher-value award applies when a student qualifies for more than one discount. The university reserves the right to modify or discontinue any scholarship at any time.
