BITS Pilani Dubai Merit Scholarship

The BITS Pilani Dubai Campus Merit Scholarship framework serves as a major financial asset to attract and support high-achieving individuals. Designed for new foundational admits as well as existing institutional residents, this dynamic structure acts as a tuition fee concession to support rigorous technical and professional education inside the UAE.
As per the institute, over 80% of enrolled students avail some form of scholarship or fee concession, making the BITS Pilani Dubai Campus Merit Scholarship one of the most widely accessible institutional award programmes in the region.

• New Undergraduate (First Degree) Scholarships: Provides incoming bachelor's entrants with tiered tuition fee reductions ranging from 10% up to 75% based directly on their final aggregate marks in qualifying high school board assessments or national competitive entrance parameters (BITSAT).
  Board Toppers (1st position, Grade 12) are eligible for a 50% first-year tuition fee scholarship. GCC/Arab Nationals may additionally qualify for a tuition fee concession of up to 100%, subject to their Grade 12 performance bracket and eligibility criteria; this is not an automatic full waiver for all GCC/Arab National applicants.

• New Postgraduate (Higher Degree) Scholarships: Awards incoming M.E. and MBA programme candidates entry-level and continuing tuition concessions based on their ongoing CGPA performance benchmarks during the degree programme.

• Continuing Student Merit Scholarships: Current BITS Pilani Dubai students who maintain a CGPA of 8.00 or above on a 10.00 scale (for B.E.) or 9.00 or above (for M.E.) at the end of any semester can earn tiered merit-based tuition discounts for the subsequent semester, on an ongoing basis for the normal duration of the programme.

Maximum Scholarship Award per Student

• Undergraduate Entrants: Covers up to 50% of the first-year tuition fee for Board Topper (1st position in Grade 12); and up to 75% of first-year tuition fee for the highest BITSAT score band (>260). GCC/Arab Nationals may qualify for a tuition fee concession of up to 100% for the normal programme duration (8 semesters), subject to eligibility criteria; the applicable concession percentage is determined by the student’s Grade 12 performance bracket and is not a guaranteed full waiver for all GCC/Arab National applicants.

• Postgraduate Entrants: M.E. Continuing students who maintain a CGPA of 9.00 or above on a 10.00 scale receive a merit scholarship of 20% of tuition fee per semester for the normal duration of the programme. Corporate group concessions of 10% are also available for M.E. candidates from the same organisation (three or more enrolments).

Duration of the Award

• Multi-Term Renewal: While entry-level board-based and BITSAT merit awards apply specifically to the first academic year's tuition fees, the funding model transitions into a semester-to-semester continuous award framework as students advance through the programme, based on their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at the end of each preceding semester.

• Retention Benchmarks: To keep the continuing merit scholarship active, undergraduate students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10.00 scale and postgraduate (M.E.) students must maintain a CGPA of 9.00 or above. The institute reserves the right to discontinue any scholarship in the event of a disciplinary breach.

• Reduction Rule: If a B.E. student's CGPA slips below the designated scholarship baseline, the tuition fee concession scales downward dynamically to a lower bracket matching their current CGPA tier. The official continuing-student tiers are: CGPA above 9.00 → 25% concession; CGPA 8.50–8.99 → 15% concession; CGPA 8.00–8.49 → 10% concession. Students falling below CGPA 8.00 lose the continuing merit scholarship entirely for that semester.

Application Process

• Merit-First Allocation: Concessions under the Merit in Qualifying Examination category are calculated automatically and concurrently with the evaluation of standard admission portfolios, based on the Grade 12 overall aggregate submitted at the time of application.
  No separate scholarship form is required for this category. Early applications are strongly recommended, as structural caps apply to total programmatic fee waivers per intake batch.

• Form Submission (All Other Categories): For all scholarship and concession categories other than Merit in Qualifying Examination -including Board Toppers, Sports Excellence, GCC/Arab National concessions, Sibling Concession, Bereavement Concession, and Physically Challenged Concession -prospective scholars must submit a formal application to the Admissions Office within one month from the date of registration. Applications received after the one-month window are not considered.

• Online Application Portal: Candidates apply through the central online admissions framework. Create a student account, complete all required fields accurately, and pay the AED 220 application fee to receive a unique application number. (Note: entered data cannot be amended once the form is submitted.)

• Documentation: Candidates must upload a verified official Grade 12 mark sheet, Grade 10 mark sheet, passport copy, TOEFL/IELTS score report (for non-English medium school applicants), and BITSAT score report (if attempted). GCC category applicants must additionally submit the parent's passport copy with valid GCC Residence Visa stamp.

Eligibility & Document Requirements

• Undergraduate Grade Cut-offs

Board Topper Scholarship: Students who secure 1st position in their Grade 12 board examination from any recognised board (UAE MOE, CBSE India, Cambridge, IB, Edexcel, or any other State, National or International Board) are eligible for a scholarship of 50% of the first-year tuition fee.
Merit in Grade 12 Board Exam (Overall Aggregate): Students with an overall aggregate of 95% or above receive a 40% tuition fee scholarship for the first academic year; students with 90%–94.9% receive 25%; students with 80%–89.9% receive 15%; students with 70%–79.9% receive 10%. The overall aggregate must include the required subjects: English, Physics, Mathematics/Biology, Chemistry/Vocational subject.
Merit in BITSAT: Admitted candidates with a BITSAT 2026 or BITSAT 2025 score of 175 or above qualify for first-year tuition fee scholarships: score above 260 → 75% of tuition fee; score 216–259 → 50% of tuition fee; score 175–215 → 25% of tuition fee. BITSAT is not compulsory for BITS Pilani Dubai Campus admission.
Sports Excellence Concession: Students who have won medals in international championships representing their country receive 50% of first-year tuition fee. Students who have participated (without medals) in international championships receive 20% of first-year tuition fee. Eligibility is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by committee recommendation.

• Postgraduate Grade Cut-offs

Higher Degree Applicants (M.E.): Continuing M.E. Students at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus who achieve a CGPA of 9.00 or above on a 10.00 scale at the end of the previous semester are awarded a 20% merit scholarship on tuition fee for the current semester, for the normal duration of the programme.
MBA Applicants: Specific entry-level scholarship parameters for MBA candidates are assessed by the admissions committee. Students are advised to contact the Admissions Office or refer to the current Admissions Bulletin for updated MBA scholarship criteria.

• Continuing Student Benchmarks

Undergraduate Continuing Students: Existing B.E. students must maintain a CGPA of 8.00 or above on a 10.00 scale at the end of the previous semester to access continuing merit scholarships. The tiered awards are: CGPA above 9.00 → 25% scholarship on tuition fee; CGPA 8.50–8.99 → 15%; CGPA 8.00–8.49 → 10%. These are assessed each semester for the normal duration of the programme.
Postgraduate Continuing Students (M.E.): M.E. students must achieve a CGPA of 9.00 or above on a 10.00 scale at the end of the previous semester to receive the 20% continuing merit scholarship on tuition fee for the current semester.
GCC / Arab National Continuing Students: GCC and Arab National students receiving the tuition concession of up to 100% must maintain a minimum CGPA of 4.50 on a 10.00 scale in each subsequent semester to retain the concession for the normal programme duration of 8 semesters.

• Non-Transferability: All BITS Pilani Dubai Campus Merit Scholarships are structural concessions bound solely to the Dubai campus operation; they cannot be automatically carried over or used if transferring to the Pilani, Goa, or Hyderabad campuses in India or to any other institution.

• Combined Scholarship Cap: Students can avail more than one scholarship or concession on tuition fees simultaneously, provided the total combined scholarship or concession amount does not exceed 50% of the tuition fee for that semester. This cap applies to all combined scholarship and concession categories. Note: Board Topper (1st position) and GCC/Arab National full concessions operate under their own structural parameters.

• Fee Payment & Scholarship Adjustment: All students must pay their specified semester fees in full at the time of admission. Any amount awarded as a scholarship or concession is adjusted in the subsequent fee payment cycle, not at the point of initial payment.

• Immediate Enrollment Rule: Standard entry-level merit awards apply exclusively to the specific intake batch listed on the offer letter (First Semester deadline: 26 June 2026; Second Semester deadline: 15 December 2026). Approved deferrals require recalculation under the next academic cycle's baseline criteria.

• Hostel Fee Concession Rule: A student may avail a hostel fee concession under a single scholarship or concession category only. Stacking hostel concessions from multiple categories is not permitted.

• Disciplinary Clause: The decision of the institute is final and cannot be contested on all matters of scholarships and concessions. The institute reserves the right to discontinue any scholarship or concession at any time if a student is found guilty in any disciplinary case.
