Scholarship
Overview
The Murdoch University Dubai Academic Merit Scholarship rewards academic excellence among both new and continuing students. It is a tuition fee discount, not a cash award, and no separate scholarship application form is required - eligibility is assessed automatically when a student submits their academic results as part of the regular admission or enrolment process.
- New Pathway, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students: Incoming students are placed into one of four tiered discount brackets - 15%, 25%, 35%, or 40% of tuition fees - based on their prior academic results (high school grades, IB score, A-Levels, GPA, or equivalent, depending on country of education).
- Pathway Programs Scholarship: Students entering the Foundation Program receive a 50% scholarship, and students entering the Diploma receive a 25% scholarship, regardless of prior grades.
- Academic Merit Scholarship for Current Students: Each trimester, a 100% scholarship on tuition fees for up to 12 credit points is awarded to the current Murdoch Dubai student (across Pathway, Undergraduate, or Postgraduate programs) who achieves the most outstanding academic results, with a minimum requirement of 85%.
- MBA Scholarship: A limited number of 20% scholarships are available for the Master of Business Administration program, intended for working professionals or applicants who do not qualify for a higher Academic Merit Scholarship bracket.

Combining Scholarships with Other Discounts
- Early Bird Discount: An additional 5% discount on a trimester's fees can be combined with the Academic Merit Scholarship, the Pathway Programs Scholarship, and the MBA Scholarship, provided fees are paid by the published confirmation deadline.
- Partner School Bursary: Students from Partner Schools, including GEMS schools, who qualify for an Academic Merit Scholarship receive an additional 5% discount. Where no merit scholarship is awarded, a 10% bursary applies instead.
- Single Scholarship Rule: A student cannot combine the Academic Merit Scholarship with the Esaad Card Discount, the Alumni Bursary, or the Corporate Partnership Discount; only one primary scholarship, bursary, or discount applies at a time, alongside the Early Bird discount where eligible.
Duration and Continuation of the Award
- Multi-Trimester Continuation: Scholarships continue into future trimesters provided the student keeps enrolling and meets minimum progression requirements (a Pass in every unit).
- Renewal Assessment: Scholarships are reviewed at the end of each trimester to confirm whether the student remains eligible for continuation into the next trimester, based on academic performance.
- Withdrawal or Deferment: Withdrawing or deferring study for more than two consecutive trimesters cancels the approved scholarship; eligibility is reassessed upon re-admission.
- Credit Point Basis: Scholarships, bursaries, and discounts (apart from the 100% award for current students) apply across 72 credit points for Undergraduate programs and 36 credit points for Postgraduate programs.
- Repeated Units: Scholarships, discounts, and bursaries do not apply to repeated units; these are charged at the full tuition fee price.

Application Process
- No Separate Scholarship Application: There is no standalone scholarship application form. Eligibility for the Academic Merit Scholarship is assessed automatically once a student submits their academic results as part of the standard university admission application.
- Submitting Academic Records: Applicants must submit their previous academic transcripts, certificates, and relevant records (e.g., high school certificates, IB/A-Level results, or prior university transcripts) alongside their admission application so that the eligible scholarship bracket can be determined.
- Offer of Admission: The applicable scholarship percentage, if any, is confirmed and communicated together with the student's Letter of Offer.
- Current Student Renewal: Continuing students do not need to reapply; renewal eligibility for the following trimester is automatically reviewed based on academic performance at the end of each trimester.
