Duration of the Award
- Multi-Term Renewal: The scholarship applies across the duration of study, provided students continue to register in consecutive semesters and satisfy ongoing academic milestones.
- Retention Penalties: To keep the discount active, undergraduate students must enroll in at least 3 subjects per trimester (Autumn, Winter, Spring), while Master's students must register for at least 2 subjects. Recipients must not receive any "Fail" (F or TF) grades.
- Reduction Rule: If an undergraduate or postgraduate student fails to maintain the required Cumulative Weighted Average Mark (WAM) but has no outright fails, the discount scales downward dynamically (For example, from 50% to 25%, or 25% to 15%, or 15% to 0%).
Note: WAM (Weighted Average Mark) is UOWD’s internal grading scale out of 100; a WAM of 65 is broadly equivalent to a GPA of approximately 2.5–3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and a WAM of 75 is roughly equivalent to a GPA of 3.0–3.3.

Application Process

All applicants must also hold a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for general master’s admission eligibility.
- Continuing Student Benchmarks: Current UOWD students must have finished at least 36 credit points (Undergraduate) or 24 credit points (Postgraduate) and achieved a minimum cumulative WAM of 75 to apply for a continuing merit scholarship.
- Retention WAM Thresholds: To avoid scholarship reduction or loss, undergraduate students must maintain a cumulative WAM of greater than or equal to 75 (for a 50% award), greater than or equal to 65 (for a 25% award), or greater than or equal to 55 (for a 15% award). Master's students must sustain a WAM of greater than or equal to 65.
